Support and Advocacy Service

A Gender Agenda offers a wide range of different support and advocacy services including group workshops, peer support programs and advocacy services.

We facilitate small group workshops on particular issues throughout the year, and also have a partners, parents and family members group. These services are currently accessed by people from all around Australia.

Our peer based support services include a weekly drop-in at AGA House, a pool of volunteers who can catch up with people for a chat, and a buddy program. We also have a range of support and information forums which you can sign up to from this website.

Our staff provide a range of advocacy services. This work includes assisting people with practical things such as changing their name and other details, or making discrimination complaints. We also work with other community organisations and government departments to assist people to access appropriate services. Sometimes we play a role in advocating for people in hospital/health and employment related situations.
