Encampment 2023 Camper EOI
Encampment 2023 is an overnight camp for LGBTIQA+ young people aged 13-17!
Encampment is an inclusive and fun space for young LGBTIQA+ young people to gather together, gain social support, and build their community connections. Encampment aims to bring local LGBTIQA+ young people together, support participants to navigate their gender identities and sexualities, and have fun in a safe and affirming camp space. You’ll get to hang out with other teens and mentors, participate in awesome workshops and activities, and have a camp experience!
Just some of the things we are hosting this year are; a kickboxing workshop, a queer history workshop and queer trivia party (with prizes for best dressed!), a screen printing workshop to make your very own Encampment tote bag, mindfulness and safe care activities, sports and arts play games, and more! All activities have accessibility in mind, please get in touch if you’re worried about accessibility supports at camp!
Young people who identify as LGBTIQA+ or allies across the ACT and surrounds are welcome to submit an expression of interest.
All campers will be supported by a group of mentors and AGA staff. Encampment 2023 is a program hosted by A Gender Agenda (AGA) and supported by ACT youth and community organisations, A Gender Agenda provides a range of services and supports for TGDI+ people and their allies.
Supervision of young people will be provided throughout the camp, and all staff and volunteers have current Working with Vulnerable People registration and relevant training and qualifications.
